Cars run in classes, but over the same roads and under the same regularity rules.

Classic

Built up to 1996

Classic

The heart of Carpathian Classic.

Cars with more than three decades of history, from the pioneers of motoring to the classics of the '90s, carefully preserved or restored as close to original as possible. Craftsmanship, patina and the stories behind every wheel are what count here. The class follows the FIVA era divisions, and FIVA- or Retromobil-certified vehicles feel right at home. Period motorsport attire is welcome, and the oldest car in the field takes home a dedicated trophy.

Youngtimer

Cars from 1996–2005

Youngtimer

The generation we grew up with.

Cars from the turn of the millennium, the last generation before touchscreens and ever-present driver aids, are quietly becoming tomorrow's classics. We're looking for examples kept true to their era, with original design and engineering and no unapproved tuning or structural modifications. An ideal way into regularity rallying, behind the wheel of the car you dreamed about as a teenager.

Modern

Built from 2006 on

Modern

Today's performance, put to work for precision.

Cars from the last two decades, from factory sport versions to models with racing DNA, bringing current technology, comfort and design to the start line. In a regularity rally, horsepower is no advantage: the crew that holds the set average most faithfully wins. Hybrids also compete in this class. It's the bridge between motoring's past and its future, and an easy way in for new enthusiasts.

  • Under 20 years old
Electric

No age limit

Electric

The future, on the same roads as history.

The Electric class has no age limit and brings together fully electric vehicles, from early EV pioneers to the latest models. Crews complete the same regularity tests as everyone else, and managing energy across the Apuseni mountain roads becomes part of the strategy. A class that reflects the Carpathian Classic mission: tradition and innovation, competing on fair terms.
